- Pipeline generation and outbound: build and nurture a steady flow of qualified opportunities using Salesforce, Outreach, Lusha, Driftify, Apollo, HubSpot, LinkedIn, or your own secret sauce.
- Discovery and value mapping: diagnose FinOps pain points, size the business case, and lay out a clear path to savings.
- Demo to close: run tailored demos with your SE, manage multiple stakeholders (FinOps leaders, CloudOps, Finance, MSP partners), negotiate commercials, and guide deals to signature.
- Expansion and renewals: stay close after signing, spot upsell triggers, and grow accounts.
- Conferences and events: represent Umbrella at industry events. This role requires chutzpah - you should feel completely at ease walking up to someone you've never met, starting a real conversation, and turning a hallway chat into a qualified lead. You're the handshake, the face, and the follow-up that transforms events into pipeline.
- Internal quarterbacking: pull in Product, Customer Success, Marketing, or execs to keep momentum and clear blockers.
- Own the full funnel: at least five years beating targets in cloud, FinOps, or MSP SaaS while handling your own prospecting and closing.
- Speak cloud fluently: comfortable with AWS and Azure billing, FinOps metrics, and the MSP ecosystem; partnering with an SE feels natural.
- Navigate complexity: multithread across finance, engineering, and procurement, balancing technical depth with business impact.
- Operate like a founder: plan, prioritize, self-manage, and keep deals moving without a safety net of BDRs.
- Network naturally: you walk expo floors with confidence, strike up conversations, and leave with next steps booked.
- Communicate crisply: near-native English; other languages and certifications (AWS, FinOps) are a plus.
