
Wellness Counselor - NYU Tel Aviv

- Provide professional counseling services, emphasizing holistic wellness and addressing individual concerns related to mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
- Offer daily walk-in hours for student support on campus.
- Conduct workshops and seminars tailored to student needs, nurturing a culture of self-care and resilience.
- Collaborate closely with the NYU Wellness Department, receiving guidance and supervision to adhere to best practices.
- Participate in a weekly 1:1 meeting with the Wellness Department director at NYU.
- Engage in aweekly 1:1 meeting with the Assistant Directors of Student Life, Operation and Academics at NYU Tel Aviv and attend team meetings as needed.
- Attend 1:1 meetings with NYU Tel Aviv Site Director, as needed.
- Serve as a resource for staff and faculty, providing consultations and workshops to enhance their understanding of wellness issues.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all counselling interactions, prioritizing student safety and privacy.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of counselling and wellness trends.
- Collaborate with campus partners to integrate wellness initiatives across academic programming and student life.
- Be available for emergency phone response after regular hours and in-person as needed.
- Report to the NYU Tel Aviv Site Director and maintain communication with the Student Life Manager.
- Participate in NYU programs according.
Minimum of 4 years of post-licensure clinical experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in university counseling settings and familiarity with the U.S. higher education system.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention and response.
Training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or other evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
Strong empathy and cultural sensitivity, with particular understanding of the unique needs of international students.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Fluency in Hebrew is preferred but not required.
