At Paragon, you'll find the freedom to think boldly, collaborate with purpose, and grow alongside a team united by a shared mission - striving for excellence, and always looking out for one another.We're looking for a hands-on Backend Team Lead to drive the development of our in-house platforms and research infrastructure, systems that are critical to both our daily operations and the future of our product.At Paragon, you'll lead the design and implementation of production-grade, scalable systems, including advanced crawlers, cross-platform automations, and internal tools that power everything from decision-making to customer-facing features. This role is perfect for a technical leader who thrives on solving complex challenges, enjoys working across a modern stack, and wants to mentor engineers while remaining deeply involved in architecture and implementation.Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a talented group of engineers, fostering growth, autonomy, and technical excellence.
Own the full development lifecycle-from architecture and infrastructure choices to security, scalability, and monitoring.
Drive product quality and delivery in a fast-paced, agile environment with high expectations for reliability and performance.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, hardware, and operations teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Influence engineering processes and culture across teams to support speed, quality, and continuous improvement.
Design and oversee systems that control and automate real-world devices using a modern stack and innovative approaches.

Tech Stack

Languages: Golang, Python
Data & Messaging: SQL and NoSQL databases, Kafka, Redis, Object Storage
Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Docker
Frontend: React (TypeScript)

Requirements

Proven experience leading engineering teams, setting direction, and growing talent.
Strong backend development skills with 6+ years of experience, preferably using Golang, Python, or similar.
Deep understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and microservices.
Ability to work effectively with stakeholders across R&D, including product, design, DevOps, and others.

Bonus Points

Experience launching new projects and building systems from scratch.
Familiarity with systems that run on-premise or in hybrid environments.
Background in multiple disciplines-e.g., DevOps, embedded systems, or product development.
