Schedule: 20 paid hours per week, with flexible hours in the Central Time Zone (with potential to become full-time depending on performance)Responsibilities

Build fully functional, custom WordPress websites from scratch-not just modify pre-made templates.
Perform edits and updates to existing WordPress sites as needed.
Handle light SEO-related backend tasks, such as updating metadata and ensuring basic site optimization and plugin updates.
Communicate clearly and reliably with our team and clients when necessary.
Collaborate with designers or content creators to bring site vision to life.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to WordPress functionality, themes, and plugins.
Ensure cross-browser and mobile responsiveness for all websites.
Manage backups, site migrations, and hosting configurations as needed.
Stay updated with WordPress trends, updates, and best practices.
There may be one off situations where the client would need them to be on a call with a client but that would be known ahead of time.

Requirements

Proven experience building custom WordPress websites from the ground up.
Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript.
Experience working with page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg).
Familiarity with SEO best practices and optimization tools.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and proactively.
Comfortable using version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.
Experience working with clients or cross-functional teams is preferred.
This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and can work independently while meeting deadlines.
