Program Director - Job DescriptionBackgroundStepping Stones Nature Initiative (SSNI) addresses the largely unmet need for Jewish English-speaking teen-at-risk programs in Israel, offering a nature-based solution. SSNI aims to provide a safe, structured environment where participants ages 13-19 can experience emotional growth and self-awareness, guided by professional staff and therapeutic modalities such as Nature, DBT, music, and somatic practices. With a 6-week program structure, year-long availability, and rolling admissions, SSNI seeks to empower participants to overcome challenges, foster resilience, and embark on a path of fulfillment and goal orientation, supported by a holistic approach and a commitment to safety and sustainability.TimelineStepping Stones Nature Initiative (SSNI) is currently seeking a part-time team member to join our organization immediately, with an anticipated transition to full-time employment starting September 2024, contingent upon funding and successful performance. This position offers approximately 10-15 hours per week initially, with the potential for expansion.In the coming months, the selected candidate will play a pivotal role in collaborating with SSNI consultants on key initiatives.Below, you'll find an outline of the eventual job description, which will undergo refinement and collaborative revision in August. Please note that this role is dynamic and will evolve over time.SummaryOverall responsibility for outdoor therapy program, responsible for representing the program to the public and managing operations including facilities, delivery of professional services for client care, program development and implementation, staffing and staff development and management, and budget and financial forecasting.Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the general management and administration of the program in accordance with licensing requirements and policies.
  • Initiates and carries out the program of residential child care.
  • Reports regularly to the governing board on all phases of operation.
  • Will work closely with the Clinical Director, Director of Development, and Marketing/Recruiting
  • Establishes and oversees fiscal practices, current and annual operating budget, and quarterly reports to the governing board.
  • Employs and discharges staff; meets on a regular basis with all staff to review, discuss, and formulate policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the selection process for all professional positions, reviews performance appraisals and/or reviews, and recommends merit and promotional salary increases for staff.
  • Directs planning, management, administrative, staff, and client meetings and training activities, and overall SSNI program management
  • Promotes services and oversees the referral development activities with community professionals, schools, clinicians, therapists, educational consultants, and families, in collaboration with the marketing department.
  • Ensures that program activities operate according to policies and procedures, applicable professional standards, facility and program licensure, laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Prepares activity and other reports for executive management as required.
  • Liaison for parents with crowdfunding campaigns.
  • Formulate policies and procedures.
▪ Knowledge, Skills, & Experience & Educational/Licensing Requirements● Education or Equivalent - Master's degree or higher in psychology, education, or related field from an accredited school, or bachelor's degree and three-five years' experience or more in a related field.● Experience working with teens in either the at risk and/or mental health space● Three-Five years of experience in management-level positions in a teen programmatic setting, with responsibility for staffing, budget, and delivery of professional services; excellent leadership, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills;● intermediate level of PC skills.● Must be fluent in English and Hebrew● Past experience with outdoor programs a plus● Work mode - hybrid● The position is intended for both women and men● Must have a valid drivers licenseThis description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
