Responsibilities include supporting remediation activities, automating workflows, integrating tools, creating scripts, and improving processes.
This role emphasizes risk mitigation through technical expertise, operational execution, and process improvement. It requires a proactive approach to ensure timely and effective vulnerability management across the organization.As a Security Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining scripts and automation tools to minimize manual effort and expedite remediation timelines.
- Integrating scanning, asset inventory, ticketing, and reporting tools into a centralized vulnerability management platform.
- Designing, documenting, and improving remediation workflows and operational processes continuously.
- Identifying vulnerabilities and prioritizing remediation efforts to minimize organizational security risks.
- Promoting and implementing security best practices across remediation and vulnerability management operations.
- Providing operational support by facilitating vulnerability remediation alongside infrastructure, application, and security teams.
- Partnering with other security functions to align remediation strategies with business and technical requirements.
- Have a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or any technology degree.
- Possess minimum 3 of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, or technical security operations within corporate environments.
- Have hands-on Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and tooling.
- Have practical Experience with vulnerability management platforms (e.g., Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, Wiz, BlackDuck).
- Be familiar with ITSM systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira), asset management (e.g., CMDB).
- Have hands-on knowledge of operating systems and sysinternals, specifically Linux operating systems
- Apply networking and application security principles effectively.
- Demonstrate knowledge and hands-on experience in DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
