The standard belief in the tech industry today is that only one out of ten companies succeeds. At SmartUp Academy ( ) we teach and work with many startups to significantly increase the success rate of companies.In addition to our courses, workshops and the residency program we want to provide real data and insights into the startup ecosystem as it exists today, and publish groundbreaking scientific papers to back up why our methodologies are so powerful.We are looking for an inquisitive researcher with significant software development experience to work closely with our founder Yonatan Stern ( ) on this trailblazing research.The first project is going to be checking the capital efficiency of the Venture Capital industry in Israel over a period of 25 years, from the year 2000 till 2024. The project will follow all venture backed companies that were founded from the year 2000 and onward, the amount of money invested in them and their outcome:

How many were acquired and at what amounts
How many went public
How many were shut down
How many did not have an exit and are thriving and growing
How many languish and barely survive (the walking dead, in VC parlance)

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fluid startup environment, have creative license over the tech stack chosen, collaborate with proven successful entrepreneurs and be part of an innovative team. You will utilize powerful new AI tools and use them for in depth research whose results could change how the high tech and venture capital industries operate.This position is right for you if you are a self-starter, resourceful, results oriented, easy to work with and highly intelligent.It can be a full-time position or part-time, depending on your needs.Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Math, Sciences, Engineering, Statistics, or Economics from a top university with a high GPA
Hands-on coding experience
Research experience - a plus
2+ years engineering experience in a company - a plus
