Director of Revenue Recognition, Inventory & Cost of Goods Sold

- Act as a strategic and professional partner in leading the company's global revenue recognition domain - covering hardware, software, services, and bundled offerings - in accordance with ASC 606.
- Responsible for defining and implementing revenue recognition policies and procedures, including complex matters such as unbilled revenues, variable consideration, percentage of completion, and contract acquisition costs.
- Lead the quarterly revenue close process, ensuring accuracy and compliance, while working closely with Sales, Legal, Finance, and Operations to ensure proper accounting treatment of deals.
- Own the inventory and COGS domains per ASC 330 and ASC 705 - including analysis of inventory obsolescence, excess/slow-moving stock, and periodic review of inventory valuation.
- Prepare and review relevant SEC reporting (including 20-F and 6-K), and coordinate with external auditors (EY) during quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
- Build strong partnerships with global finance teams to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures across the organization.
- Maintain SOX compliance and lead initiatives to improve reporting processes, leverage BI tools to identify cost savings, efficiencies, and operational improvements.
- Provide accounting support for M&A activity, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration, with a focus on revenue and inventory implications.
- Manage and lead a global accounting team - including professional leadership, employee development, and fostering a high-performing and supportive work environment.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA with Big 4 experience in the high-tech industry.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Revenue Recognition Manager or Senior Financial Controller in a global US publicly traded technology company.
- Proven experience in direct management of a team of at least 2-3 accounting professionals.
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting, with specific expertise in ASC 606, inventory, and COGS accounting.
- Experience with SOX compliance and internal control frameworks.
- Proficient in ERP and Consolidation systems, preferably Oracle and HFM (past experience in system implementation - an advantage).
- Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Wizard.
- Excellent written and verbal English, including the ability to draft technical memos and present to senior leadership.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate data, perform complex calculations and identify and resolve technical accounting problems.
- Ability to distill complex accounting analysis and effectively articulate accounting issues to non-accounting specialist colleagues.
- Demonstrated success working cross-functionally and communicating across all levels of an organization.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, accurate work within tight deadlines.
- Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
